Explore God Bay Area

For more than 60 years Q Place has trained Christians to run groups where spiritual seekers feel respected and intrigued while discussing life, God, and the Bible. We’re glad to share what we have learned so you can have a successful group! In the list below, you’ll find many links to help you on your Explore God journey, and many are FREE!

(In “Q Place,” the “Q” is for questions. To find out more about what we do, click here.)

Before Explore God Bay Area:

Get ready.

Noticing, listening and asking good questions are vital skills to connect with people in your community so that inviting them into an Explore God group can become natural.

These are three foundational skills in Practicing the 9 Arts of Spiritual Conversations, which is easy-to-use small group curriculum. You can start with just one Art in a 4-Session Pack. They’re excellent for small groups or any Christians who are interested in facilitating an Explore God group.

Pick one 4-Session Pack (or more), and have your small groups go through the content as they prepare to lead Explore God groups.

During Explore God Bay Area:

Share these resources with group facilitators.

At the first meeting of an Explore God group, facilitators can use the talking points on the Explore God Orientation Cards to share how the group will work. (They can print and cut the cards so each facilitator can have one.)

As the groups meet each week, they can start with questions from the Icebreaker Questions linked below to increase group participation. (Read “The Right Icebreaker” to learn more about the value of great icebreaker questions.)

After Explore God Bay Area:

Keep the discussions going!

Explore God can be just the beginning of great spiritual conversations!  Consider one of these discussion resources that are especially designed to work well with people who are new to the Bible. The seasonal ones are great to use in special get togethers before Thanksgiving and Christmas.
