11 Great Thanksgiving Questions
| By Q Place
The pies are baked, the turkey is in the oven, the table is set, the guests are on their way. Everything is ready for a great time.
After everyone is settled and has a chance to catch up a bit, asking a few fun, meaningful questions around the table can lead to special connections.
We suggest choosing several questions, writing each one on a piece of paper, putting them into a bowl, and asking guests to pick a question out of the bowl. Nobody has to participate or answer a question they don’t like. Encourage them to simply choose a different question or answer one someone else has answered.
- What is something you did or learned this year that you appreciate?
- What fun thing did you do to make a difference in the lives of other people (or in the life of another person) this year?
- Why do you think having a thankful heart is important?
- Who has made a big difference in your life during this year? How did they do that?
- What is something difficult that happened to you this year? Is there any part of that experience that actually brought good into your life?
- Who is a person or event “before your time” that you are thankful for, and why?
- What is one change in your life that you are grateful for?
- What is one aspect about the way you were raised that you are grateful for, and why?
- Describe a friend who has influenced your life for good, that you are grateful for.
- Share a change you made after not seeing a dream fulfilled and how that change has led to something you are thankful for.
- What “little things” are you thankful for today?
Good questions are gifts we extend to others. Listening to those around your Thanksgiving table will build the quality of your relationships and the joy of being together!
